New Core and Everyday Life at the University of Birmingham

) On 3rd June, the University of Birmingham launched #NewCore (new system that incorporates HR, finance processes etc). Its slogan is ‘a single version of the truth’.

How are you finding New Core?

Are you doing New Core admin in your own time or on your own phone?

Should New Core be a ‘single source of truth’ (as they claim)?

Do you have any funny, disastrous, or even positive anecdotes about the way this system works and is being used?

Tell us all about it!

We are launching a testimonials campaign to find out how staff at the University of Birmingham are having their working lives affected (positively, negatively, or not at all) by the introduction of a New all-in-one system called New Core. New Core is, according to the University’s website, a ‘programme to transform the way in which HR, Payroll and Finance activities are carried out’. We are therefore asking staff (members and non-members) to submit anonymous anecdotes which reflect their everyday experiences of using New Core. They can be as long or as short as you wish.

Please submit them through via our SurveyMonkey page (https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WT87VZP) or text 0748 7821 857.

We will publish them here: http://uobunison.org.uk/category/new-core.

We will not disclose your contact details or name; please do not mention names.

If you wish to encourage others to submit their stories, print the poster/leaflet below and share it with others.
